Plei Djereng Airfield
D Company, 35th Engineer Battalion built the Plei Djereng Airfield runway with MX19 matting, a sandwich-type structure of aluminum honeycomb core and sheets. Construction started in mid-December 1966 and finished by 17 January 1967. This red clay region was the refueling stop for us before flying into Cambodia.

The site is now used for agriculture.
